The use of clinical nutrition can be invaluable in bringing people back to a balanced state. One tool that provides a great deal of information is the Enzyme Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay or ELISA. A food panel IgG ELISA forms the ground work for a nutritional program that accounts for the individual needs of each patient. For more information visit Immuno Laboratories
What Are Food Sensitivities?
When you eat healthy foods your body will usually digest and assimilate them properly. Digestion breaks food down into simple components which can be absorbed and utilized nutritionally. The immune system ‘recognizes’ these components as beneficial once they are absorbed into the bloodstream and does not react against them.
In some cases foods are not completely digested and large complex components called macromolecules are absorbed into the bloodstream. The immune system does not ‘recognize’ these macromolecules as beneficial and thus mounts a defensive reaction against them. This is termed a food sensitivity which can result in a variety of symptoms including weight imbalance.
Once hypersensitive foods are removed, the body is better able to accept the supplementation that is provided.
Standard Process has been a leader in the field of nutritional supplements for over 70 years. The company is committed to a whole food philosophy first introduced by its founder, Dr. Royal Lee. Dr. Lee believed that the best sources of vitamins and minerals are found in whole foods. To preserve the nutrients of the whole food, concentrated supplements are created using a unique manufacturing process. This process involves raw foods grown on company owned farms; state-of-the art manufacturing equipment, and continual testing to ensure quality control.
